Date Krumm's run continues


42 year old Kimiko Date Krumm of Japan started the 2013 Australian Open campaign as the oldest player in the women's singles draw but the Japanese has now won two matches in the main draw without dropping a game. In the first round Japanese gave Nadia Petrova, world number 12, a nightmare as she triumphed only losing two games. The 42 year old veteran back up her victory today with a terrific win over Israel's Shahar Peer 6-2,7-5. date Krumm became the oldest woman to win a singles match at Melbourne Park when she beat Petrova. Date Krumm will meet either Bojana Javanowsky of Serbia who beat 17th seed Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.
