Radwanska through to round 2

Second seed Agnieszka Radwanska made an impressive start to her US Open campaign with a 6-1,6-1 victory over Nina Bratichikova of Russia. World number two Radwanska  showed no signs of a shoulder injury that forced her out of the New Haven tournament last week. Venus Williams overpowered Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-3 6-1 and in the process clocked the fastest women's serve of the tournament to date at 124 mph. Venus will meet Angelique Kerber of Germany in the second round who beat Anne Keothavong 6-2,6-0. Seeded players Sara Errani and Dominica Cibulkova also through to round of 64 after three sets victories
