Ivanovic into third final

Ana Ivanovic defeated her compatriot Jelena Jankovic in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 in a clash of former world no.1s to set up a final with 2-time defending champion Maria Sharapova at Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Ivanovic, already the winner of two WTA titles this year, is looking for her third title. Ivanovic has beaten three former Stuttgart champions in last three rounds this year; Julia Georges, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Jelena Jankovic.

Sharapova one win away from hat-trick

Two-time defending champion Maria Sharapova cruised past Sara Errani, 6-1, 6-2, on Saturday to reach her third straight Porsche Grand Prix final in Stuttgart, Germany. Sharapova, who is undefeated on Porsche Arena, extends her winning streak on Stuttgart's indoor clay to 12 matches.

Cornet, Garcia win titles in Katowice and Bogota

 

Alize Cornet of France saved a match point before beating Camila Giorgi of Italy 7-6 (3), 5-7, 7-5 Sunday to win the Katowice Open for her fourth career WTA title. The match lasted 3 hours, 11 minutes. Meanwhile another French Woman Caroline Garcia captured her first WTA title and her first top 10 win with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over top seed and defending champion Jelena Jankovic Sunday at the Claro Open in Bogota.

Ivanovic triumphs Monterrey Open

Ana Ivanovic of Serbia clinched the 13th title of her career by beating first time WTA finalist Jovana Jaksic 6-2, 6-1 in the all Serbian final of the Monterrey Open. With the astonishing victory Ana is one of three players to have won two singles title this season alongside Serena Williams and Li Na. She is projected to reclaim twelfth ranking on Monday and will move up to eighth in the Road To Singapore.

Petkovic clinches Charleston title

Former top 10 player Andrea Petkovic won her first WTA tournament in three years, outlasting Jana Cepelova for a 7-5, 6-2 victory Sunday. On the way to her final the German beat three straight top 10 seeds in No. 4 Sabine Lisicki, No. 9 Lucie Safarova and No. 6 Eugenie Bouchard.

Ivanovic, Jaksic set all Serbian final in Monterrey

Former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic of Serbia defeated former world number one Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 7-6,6-4 in semi finals of Monterrey to reach her second WTA final of the year. Ivanovic, already has a title to her name this year, will face another Serbian Jovana Jaksic. Jaksic beat veteran 43 year old Kimiko Date Krumm 6-7,6-4,6-4. It's the first time that two Serbian players meet in a WTA final in the history of WTA.

Petkovic, Cepelova in Charleston final

Number 14th seeded Andrea Petkovic of Germany and Jana Cepelova of Slovakia advance to the finals Saturday, both rallying late in their matches to set up an unlikely championship on Sunday. Petkovic rallied in the final two sets to defeat sixth-seeded Eugenie Bouchard, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5, while Cepelova came back from 4-1 down in a third-set tiebreaker to defeat 17-year-old Swiss qualifier Belinda Bencic, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7). Cepelova beat world No. 1 Serena Williams in the second round and is in her first WTA final.
